Can I bring a small pet?
No. We ask that you enjoy interaction with the native wildlife which includes pelicans, ducks, rails, brush turkeys, possums, water dragons, & geckos etc. Nearby kennels may be able to provide pet accommodation.
Can I smoke?
Not inside the bungalows. You are welcome to smoke on your balcony or around the grounds where we provide smokers trays for discarded buts.
Can I bring a boat or kayaks?
Yes. You will have direct boating access to the Maroochy River system which is great to explore by boat or kayak. If you are bringing a boat we recommend you bring 2 sand anchors to stop the boat swinging in the wind. Trailer parking is available. Bring your trailer lock or chain & padlock. There is a boat ramp within the complex.
Can I leave my boat in the water?
Yes. Just remember to remove all valuables from sight - ie fishing rods etc. Boat covers are encouraged - remember the old saying....out of sight... out of mind.
Where can I leave my trailer?
There is a trailer yard (fee) which is suitable for boats & trailers of modest sizes. Alternatively there are dedicated free open parking areas for boats & trailers of all sizes.
Is there room for bus & coach parking? Can a bus turnaround?
Yes there is ample room for bus & coach parking and turning. The resort is located on a no through road with a large loop at the end. Perfect for buses and other long commercial vehicles. I don't have a boat. How can I go fishing? There are a range of charters all over the sunshine coast, offering both river and ocean experiences. Spend the day casting soft plastics on the Maroochy River with a local guru Brian Readman or head offshore for some bigger fish. For land lovers there is always the local barramundi fishing park or you can hire your own runabout (no license required) from Swan Boat Hire. How can I found out more about learning to canoe or kayak on the Maroochy River? You are welcome to contact the Sunshine Coast Kayak Club for information on junior and senior training programs. They offer beginners and entry level activities every Sunday morning in front of Maroochy River Resort & Bungalows.
Can we swim in the river?
The Maroochy River is a slow moving body of water with no significant rips or currents. No crocodiles and no stingers. Do remember that it is a natural waterway and is therefore inhabited by many natural forms of wildlife including fish, crabs, eels, etc.
Is there undercover parking?
There is one designated undercover car bay for selected 2 bedroom bungalows.
Parking for the 1 bedroom bungalows is open.
How do I get my gear from the carpark to my bungalow?
We have several trolleys to take the hard work out of setting up & packing up for you.
Do I need a car?
Our location on the edge of the town centre means it is best if you have your own private transport. Public transport is available however, with the nearest bus stop being approx 500m, with hourly bus services into Maroochydore (connecting to Caloundra) & Nambour (connecting to Noosa). Shuttle buses are available to/from local RSL and Surf Lifesaving Club venues.
How much by taxi to the main shopping centre?
During the day approximately $8 will take you to Sunshine Plaza. At night it will cost approx $12.
I am coming for eye surgery at the local hospital. Is it far by cab?
Our central location makes us within 10 minutes drive of the Nambour General Hospital, Nambour Selangor Private Hospital, Breastscreen Queensland Nambour Service, Buderim Private Hospital, Kawana Private Hospital, Sunshine Coast Private Hospital, Sunshine Coast Day Surgery We have 4 children, do you have anything that can cater for us all?
Yes. You can stay in a 2 bedroom bungalow some of which will take up to 4 children. See Accommodation for floor plans. Call direct to ensure a suitable room is available.
We have 3 children, do you have any waterfront bungalows that will accommodate us?
Yes. Most bungalows accommodate only 2 adults & 2 children however some bungalows have a set of bunks and a single divan in the living area to accommodate 3 children. You must specifically request this if you have more than 2 children. See Accommodation for floor plans. We also now have some 2 bedroom bungalows on the waterfront that will cater for 3 or 4 children.
Will it cost extra above the published rates if we bring our two children?
No. Children stay free at Maroochy River Bungalows. We understand that it is expensive enough to raise a family.
I am trying to organise a family reunion - is your accommodation suitable?
Yes. Every family can have their own self contained bungalow giving privacy, whilst the grounds provide a great venue to get everyone together for drinks or bbq etc. We recommend that the organiser come to Maroochy River Resort & Bungalows to assess the suitability for your particular grouping.
Is Maroochy River Resort & Bungalows a suitable venue for my wedding ceremony?
Yes. You may use the central balinese pavillion for your wedding ceremony for free if you are booking 10 bungalows or more to accommodate yourself &/or your guests for your special occasion. A fee of $300 may apply where bookings of 2 - 9 bungalows occur. (NB 2 night and 2 bungalow minimum applies). Your wedding party may include guests not staying at the bungalows but is limited to a 1:1 ratio (ie 40 staying guests and 40 non staying guests = maximum 80 guests)
Is Maroochy River Bungalows a suitable venue for my wedding reception ?
Yes. You may use the services of a professional wedding caterer to provide a marquee with all equipment and seating for up to 50 guests by the water. Minimum accommodation booking of 10 bungalows. (NB 2 night minimum applies)
Do you have a function room?
The neighbouring hotel has a series of function rooms for hire for wedding receptions, family reunions, birthday celebrations etc. Let them make it easy for you. This is within easy walking distance (400m). http://www.waterfronthotel.com.au/ Do you have a meeting room? Yes, we have a waterfront meeting room for groups up to 30 people. Perfect for courses, corporate training, hobby groups, family groups etc. It is available for hire for $120 per day or $350 per week. Alternatively the neighbouring waterfront hotel has larger rooms available.
Do you have a playground?
The Waterfront Hotel has its own indoor play area and video game room for the kids for when you want to dine out. Alternatively the neighbouring Fishermans Road Lions park has a great outdoor playground with loads of swings, slides etc.
Where can I play golf?
There are numerous courses on the Sunshine Coast all offering differing range of challenges for the novice through to the professional. Click here for a list of clubs you can play along the coast.
Can I preorganise for food to be delivered to my room before I arrive?
Depending on your scheduled arrival time you can organise with to have goods delivered for you. See food order online.
Please let us know at the office if you are expecting a food delivery. Alternatively you can preorder some items from our onsite store which stocks basics such as milk, bread, breakfast items etc.
