Sundays: 1stto 29th– Fishermans Road Sunday Markets. Come and enjoy a traditional market, whilst supporting an excellent cause. Organised by the Lions Club, all proceeds go towards supporting local charity and community organisations on the Sunshine Coast. There's something for everyone as the markets have a large variety of stalls ranging from food, coffee, fresh fruit & vegies to plants, clothing, books, jewellery and childrens' rides. Every Sunday cnr Fishermans Road and David Low Way, Maroochydore.

Wednesdays & Saturdays: 4thto 28th– Eumundi Markets from 6.30-2 Sat; 8-1 Wed. A visit to the Original Eumundi Markets is shopping heaven if you’re looking for something different, something handmade, something special… You’ll discover unique treasures, art and craft, jewellery and fashion designed and made by our talented stallholders. Enjoy world-class street performers, face painters & balloon artists. Have your palm read or indulge in the vast array of services offered by our many health and wellbeing practitioners. Our food stalls are loaded with taste sensations including quality coffee, chocolate, great cakes & old fashioned lemonade - and there’s a wealth of fresh produce including fruit and vegetables, breads, locally made cheeses and yoghurts & and condiments for you to take back home. Every Saturday and Wednesday from 6.30-2pm.

Friday 6th – The Eumundi Summer Nights Series. Enjoy a relaxed night out, with market food stalls, art and craft stalls, and fabulous entertainment including live music, performances by comedic juggler Great Scott, craft workshops for kids, and free outdoor movies! Tonight’s movie is Happy Feet presented by Flicks in the Sticks at approx 6.30pm

Saturdays 7th-28th– STEAM TRAIN SATURDAY! At the "Valley Rattler" we are asked so many times for shorter trips so that parents can take children for a steam train ride. So now EVERY SATURDAY is a STEAM TRAIN SATURDAY! Two trains, morning and afternoon, depart Gympie for Amamoor and return, for a 3hr trip. Ideal for Birthday Parties! Get set for more action and entertainment than you can poke a stick at these school holidays. Wooo-hoo! What a little beauty! Thursday 12th– Rhythm Culture Drumming Workshop. Rhythm Culture takes you on an exciting journey through rhythm, movement and sound with these West African percussion workshops. Friday 13th– Pirates of the Valley - with the Valley Rattler. Calling all pirates who want to go on a Treasure Hunt down the Mary Valley. Pirates should join Capt Rattlebones at old Gympie Station to board the “Blueskellies Diesel Express” – the heritage train with a big blue diesel locomotive to go and explore the Mary Valley with the Captain’s stolen maps to try and find the hidden treasure. The ticket price includes the train ride, treasure hunt and sausage sizzle. Depart: 10:00am, Return: 2:30pm

Monday 16thto Friday 20th– SCYT - Summer Camp 2012. Love to sing? Love to dance? Just want to perform? Then it’s good news because…. Sunshine Coast Youth Theatre Summer Camp at The J is back! Summer Camp 2012 is a five-day intensive workshop that will cover all aspects of performance in Musical Theatre, and will include a Showcase Performance at the end. Develop your skills and craft over the five days, and learn the tricks of the trade in Movement, Dance, Singing, Acting Technique, and X-Factor Performance. This Camp is an ‘open’ Camp – all skill levels, abilities and experience welcome. Opportunities are also available for those who are keen to develop skills in Technical Production, including Lighting, Sound Recording and Mixing, Cue Calling and Stage Management

Wednesday 18th– Cinderella At The Disco. Cinderella works so hard to keep her step-mother happy. She cook a nice roast lamb, cleans the house all day, she even does her step-sister’s chores, but they still complain. Nothing is ever good enough…poor Cinders ! Murray, the moose has just delivered an invitation to the big disco dance – how exciting! Everyone is planning what they’ll wear and practising their new dance moves, especially as ‘Prince Perfect’ will be there too. All the girls are hoping to meet him, but not Cinderella; she has been grounded… just because her scones didn’t turn out “light and fluffy”. Oh dear! Even if she could go, Cinderella hasn’t got a thing to wear and she can’t dance either. What she really needs now is a miracle! Or maybe…….a Fairy Godmother! An interactive stage show suitable for 3 - 11 years. 10am at THE J Running time 50 minutes

Wednesday 25th– Australia Day Awards. The Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards celebrate the contribution of individuals, community organisations and businesses in the region. These prestigious awards are designed to pay tribute to those who make extraordinary contributions to society or who are outstanding achievers in the community. Mayor Bob Abbott will present the 2012 Sunshine Coast Australia Day Awards at a special ceremony at Maroochy Baptist Centre in North Buderim.

Thursday 26th– Australia Day Community Celebration at Kings Beach Amphitheatre. A great day of family fun is planned from 10 am to 5 pm with entertainment to suit all tastes and ages. This free public event will be bursting at the seams with live entertainment, workshops, activities and market stalls expressing the national diversity that has become an important part of the Australian national character. Australia Day Community Celebrations are a great way to celebrate safely and responsibly and will be an alcohol and glass free event.

Saturday 11th– Colin Hay’s Gathering Mercury Tour. As frontman and principle songwriter for eighties hit machine Men at Work, Colin Hay is responsible for one of the most identifiable sounds in pop music. Time: 8.00pm at The Events Centre.

Saturday 24th– Mooloolaba Ocean Swim. A Mooloolaba Triathlon event! Join the stars of the pool and surf in the 1000m M-shaped ocean swim off Mooloolaba Beach. Swim will be wave starts, no wetsuits.

Saturday 24th- The Courier-Mail Mooloolaba Superkidz Triathlon. The kids only version of the Mooloolaba Triathlon - for all children aged 7-13 years. All participants receive a participation medallion. The first 350 registered participants will receive an official ASICS Mooloolaba Triathlon Superkidz Triathlon Singlet.

Monday 26th– Sesame Street Presents Elmo’s World Tour!! Come along with Elmo and the Sesame Street gang as they circle the globe in this all-singing, all-dancing stage show. Abby Cadabby, Big Bird, Grover, Zoe, Cookie Monster and Elmo use the letters of the alphabet to navigate a voyage through imagination that sees the gang visiting China, Zambia, France, India and Australia! Elmo and his friends have fun learning how people sing and dance and say hello in different places, but things don’t go to plan when Cookie Monster eats a letter of the alphabet. Can Abby Cadabby find the right spell to help? Along the way, audiences will also delight in hearing a sensational tale from The Count and will help some back-packing rubber-duckies find a place to stay with Bert and Ernie. Featuring a bunch of classic Sesame Street songs alongside catchy new tunes, this show will delight Sesame Street fans of ALL ages. At The Events Centre Caloundra, at 10.00am
