By staying at Maroochy River Bungalows you are locating yourself in the centre of the Sunshine Coast. This means that you will be half way to everywhere on the Coast and that all of the local attractions are within an easy 30 minute drive.
FOR BEACH LOVERS
The Sunshine Coast is renownded for its sun-drenched beaches, sparkling water and year-round swimming in temperate waters. Free of nasties such as stingers and crocodiles the patrolled beaches are a must do on any visit to the Sunshine Coast.
Each beach offers its own unique experience & is within easy driving distance when you are staying at Maroochy River Bungalows.

Rainbow Beach north of Noosa (30 minutes north) is a 4WD adventure park with kilometres of unspoilt, white sandy beaches and turquoise rolling surf. The dramatic coloured sand cliffs are quite spectacular. Hire a 4WD for the day or take a guided day tour.

The long quiet sandy beaches of Sunshine Beach (25 minutes north), Coolum (15 minutes north), Maroochydore (5 minutes east) and Kawana (10 minutes south) are ideal for surfing, boogie boarding and long relaxing walks.

Alexandra Headlands (5 minutes east), Mooloolaba (10 minutes southeast) & Point Cartwright (10 minutes south) offer rocky outcrops that are great for learning about sea life with their small rock pools.

The calm waters of Mooloolaba Spit (10 minutes south east) and Golden Beach (25 minutes south) are perfect for kids to make a splash or learn to fish

Dicky Beach (20 minutes south) boasts the rusting skeleton of the SS Dicky wreck, one of only a handful of Australian beaches with its own shipwreck.

Kings Beach (25 minutes south) is a unique combination of a surf beach with a salt water swimming pool.

The Pumicestone Passage (30 minutes south) is a sheltered waterway dotted with kite surfers and small craft.

Glasshouse Mountains National Parks - Craggy volcanic peaks. Tracks ranging from easy to very challenging. Panoramic views.

Wetlands Sanctuary - Bli Bli - Explore eucalypt forests, rainforest, melaleuca forest, salt marsh and mangroves. Over 200 species of birds, crabs, butterflies and other wildlife species.

Mary Cairncross Park - Maleny - The 52 hectare rainforest reserve complete with tree identification tags. There are picnic tables, barbecue facilities, a children’s playground, toilets, a kiosk. Guided walks can be arranged.

Point Cartwright Lookout - Kawana - High cliffs in this coastal headland reserve provide spectacular views including migratory humpback whales and turtles as well as ships entering and leaving the Port of Brisbane. Grassy slopes for family picnics.

Buderim Rainforest Walk - Tucked in behind the famous ’Harry’s Restaurant’ on Harry’s Lane at the bottom of Lindsay Road, is a brilliantly constructed boardwalk with viewing platforms overlooking the natural surroundings. Features subtropical rainforest with creeks and waterfalls

Conondale National Park - At the heart of the Upper Mary Valley this park protects magnificent forests, deep gorges and creek catchments, and is an important refuge for many rare and threatened animals.

Ben Bennett Botanical Park - features walking tracks which guide visitors through Melaleuca and Eucalypt forests, coastal heaths and one of few areas of coastal lowland vine forest.

Noosa National Park - four walking tracks of varying length start from the park entrance at the end of Park Rd where there is an information centre, toilets, drinking water, a car park and a picnic area with electric barbecues, beach showers and lookouts. The Coastal Track (2.7 km one-way), The Palm Grove Circuit (1 km), The Tanglewood track (4.2 km one-way), Coastal Heath Track (1 km one way).
